    Robinhood Prediction Markets Review

Event contracts inside the Robinhood app — CA-eligible, no promo code

    4.2 / 5
    Our verdict

Robinhood is the easiest on-ramp to event contracts for Californians who already have the app, but the catalog is a fraction of Kalshi's. Treat it as a convenience option, not your primary prediction-market account.

    Welcome offer
No welcome offer — listed for coverage, not commission

Robinhood does not run a prediction-markets welcome offer and we earn nothing from this listing. We include it because it is a legitimate California-eligible option. 18+, standard Robinhood account requirements apply.

    Pros
    • Zero extra onboarding if you already use Robinhood
    • Works on any device in California
    • Contracts sit next to your stocks and crypto
    Cons
    • Far fewer markets than Kalshi
    • Thinner liquidity outside headline events
    • No welcome bonus or promo code

    Key features

    • Event contracts cleared through CFTC-regulated Kalshi infrastructure
    • Available to California residents 18+ with a funded Robinhood account
    • iOS, Android and web
    • Narrower market catalog than Kalshi or Polymarket

    What are Robinhood prediction markets?

Robinhood surfaces Yes/No event contracts directly inside its trading app. The contracts are event contracts routed to a CFTC-regulated exchange, so they settle at $1 or $0 exactly like Kalshi contracts — you're just accessing them through Robinhood's interface.

    California availability

Available to verified California residents 18+ with a funded Robinhood account. There is no separate signup, no geofence issue, and it works on iPhone, Android and web — which makes it the lowest-friction option in the state if you already trade on Robinhood.

    Markets and liquidity

The catalog is deliberately narrow: major elections, Fed decisions, economic prints and headline sports events. You will not find the long tail of California wildfire, weather, awards or niche sports markets that Kalshi lists, and spreads outside flagship events are wider.

    Who it's best for

Existing Robinhood users who want occasional exposure to headline events without opening another account. Anyone who wants the full market catalog, tighter spreads or a welcome bonus should use Kalshi (any device, 21+) or Polymarket (iPhone, 18+).

    How we tested

We traded event contracts inside an existing Robinhood account from California across sports, economics and election markets, and compared prices and spreads against the same contracts on Kalshi.

    Editor's note

I funded and tested Robinhood Prediction Markets personally from a California address before writing this review — no free press access, no operator-supplied account. My background is 15 years in regulated iGaming, including running the Hard Rock New Jersey online CRM launch under a DGE vendor license, so I hold prediction market operators to a real regulated-operator standard. — Catie Di Stefano
