Methodology

Each request hits our live-markets edge function, which fetches the latest events from Kalshi's public API (api.elections.kalshi.com/trade-api/v2/events) and Polymarket's Gamma API (gamma-api.polymarket.com/markets). Volume is reported in USD over a rolling 24-hour window as published by each exchange. We surface only markets that classify into our editorial categories (sports, politics, crypto, celebrities, California) and discard markets with zero or missing volume from this table. Data is not stored — every page load is a fresh snapshot.

Where does this data come from?
Live from the public Kalshi (api.elections.kalshi.com) and Polymarket (gamma-api.polymarket.com) APIs, fetched server-side via our edge function on each page load. We do not store or modify the figures.
How is volume calculated?
We display 24-hour USD trading volume as reported by each exchange's public API. Kalshi reports notional contract value; Polymarket reports USDC volume. We sort across both venues to surface the highest-volume markets.
Can I cite or republish this data?
Yes. The CSV download is free for editorial and research use. Please credit VenicePredictionMarkets and link back to this page.
Why might numbers be missing for some markets?
Kalshi's public events feed sometimes omits 24h volume on newly listed contracts. Those rows still appear with their current Yes price.
